Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the scrolljar API and related services ("Services") provided by Bayou Semantics ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

scrolljar provides programmatic access to biblical text corpora and linguistic annotations through a REST API, MCP server, and agent interfaces. The Services are intended for developers, researchers, and AI applications.

3. Accounts and API Keys

You must create an account to use the Services. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, or related systems.
  • Resell or redistribute the Services without our prior written consent.
  • Use the Services to transmit malicious code or interfere with service availability.

5. Usage Limits and Pricing

Free accounts receive a monthly credit allocation as described on the Pricing page. We reserve the right to modify pricing and usage limits with reasonable notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The Services, including the API, documentation, and underlying software, are the intellectual property of Bayou Semantics. The textual corpora served through the API are subject to their respective licenses as described in the documentation.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bayou Semantics shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Services.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised effective date.
